Job Purpose
The Quality Control function at Smiths Interconnect is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by performing incoming, in鈥憄rocess, and final inspections to ensure products meet internal, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role executes Customer Source Inspection (CSI), First Article Inspection (FAI), high鈥憆eliability testing, and related quality activities while contributing to continuous improvement, compliance, and on鈥憈ime delivery objectives.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming inspection of raw materials and components.
- Conduct in鈥憄rocess and final inspections in accordance with drawings, procedures, and specifications.
- Execute Customer Source Inspections (CSI) and First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Perform visual inspections using microscopes and precision tools.
- Handle and test highly sensitive and delicate equipment to define quality criteria.
- Accurately collect, document, and store inspection and test data.
- Prepare Certificates of Compliance (CoC) and customer鈥憇pecific quality documentation.
- Maintain product serialization and traceability records.
- Follow documented data鈥慶ollection and record鈥憆etention procedures.
- Identify, document, and escalate non鈥慶onformances.
- Initiate and support corrective actions (NCR/CAR).
- Assist in root鈥慶ause investigations and verification of corrective measures.
- Assist with supplier evaluations and incoming quality concerns.
- Support internal and external ISO audits by providing documentation and inspection evidence.
- Support contract review activities related to quality requirements.
- Perform minor mechanical assembly, labeling, and final packaging of products.
- Prepare finished goods for transfer to Stores or Shipping.
- Support achievement of daily and weekly shipping targets.
- Comply with company Quality Management System, Health & Safety, and security requirements.
- Perform other quality鈥憆elated tasks as assigned.
