Sustaining Product Test floor coordinator is responsible for coordinating day-to-day software sustaining test execution activities on the test floor or lab. He/She acts as the central point of contact between test engineers, development teams, program managers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth scheduling, tracking, and sustaining needs for our CT Explosives Detection Systems (EDS). Responsible for managing sustaining activities, including associated HW and/or SW developments, testing and deployment support, and management of Technology-driven deliverables and milestones. This will include planning and managing the schedule, budget and deliverables. The ideal candidate is an accomplished hands-on software/hardware quality engineer who has a passion for quality and understands how to achieve meeting company critical objectives.
Essential functions:
- Coordinate and schedule software test activities on the floor for multiple sustaining projects or teams.
- Work with the program managers and functional managers to understand the testing effort by analyzing the requirements of software projects
- Identify test cases, use cases and write and execute test plans in support of those projects. Thoroughly document test results.
- Responsible for requirements analysis, test plan development, test case development, test case execution, test case reporting, and field deployment and support.
- Provide, when needed, support to floor test engineers, Service and Operations organizations. Support field upgrades as required.
- Responsible for sustaining test activates for both Software and Hardware for the CTX systems on the floor.
- Mentor less experienced test engineers and bring them up to speed for test activities.
- Team lead approach on project basis and represent test team in technical discussions.
- Allocate test resources (equipment, environments, personnel) effectively,
- Ensure seamless handover of EOL parts from Technology to Production and Field Service teams, enabling efficient deployment and ongoing support
- Work with Engineering team to determine if COTS replacement is available or engineering development is required.
- Develop and execute detailed project plans, including defining scope, setting timelines, estimating forecasts/budgets, and assigning resources from cross-functional team members.
- Create project specific sustaining WBS numbers to track costs on individual EOL components.
- Work with 3rd party vendors to develop and/or test replacement components.
- Establish mitigation plans, identify trigger events, and initiate corrective action plans.
- Track sustaining budget numbers and provide monthly reports for local and global finance review.
- Ensure adherence to test processes, standards, and safety protocols in the lab/floor.
