MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the successful development of plastic parts within the project.
Analyze work requests (parts, mechanical environment, vehicle technical constraints, etc.) and identify potential challenges (issues, inconsistencies, major difficulties).
Possess in-depth knowledge of plastic injection molding processes.
Design 3D models using Catia V5 or Siemens NX, with strong expertise in Part Design and Generative Shape Design (GSD), while considering:
Styling surfaces (design and functional parts).
Dimensional variations of injected parts in their mechanical environment (defining fixed points and reference systems).
Thickness optimization and seamless technical integration of the part into its mechanical environment.
Surface continuity and refinement, ensuring proper updates and edge definition to prevent shrinkage defects.
Demoldability rules, including the integration of slider and lifter movements in the mold, especially for complex parts (a strong asset).
Positioning, securing, and assembly techniques for plastic parts.
Joining and interface techniques (butt joints, overlaps, step joints, etc.).
Proximity analysis and clash detection between components.
Experience with PLM tools is a plus.
Oversee the development of parts and/or systems up to the 2D drawing production stage (Catia V5 Drawing), ensuring functional dimensioning for both internal requirements and supplier specifications.
Collaborate closely with injection-molded plastic part suppliers for mold development and optimization.
