ProSidian Seeks a Construction Discipline Engineer CO102 (Field Engineer - Welding) to support an engagement for a liquid waste contractor (Savannah River Remediation [SRR]) at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, which is owned by the U.S. Department of Energy.
The position requires a thorough understanding of Construction Engineering principles and the ability to apply these principles to field conditions. Experience in the preparation of computer-based construction work execution plans (work Packages) including job-specific hazards analysis, i.e. Asset Suite and Assisted Hazard Analysis or equivalent.
The Construction Discipline Engineer - Field Engineer is responsible for planning and technical oversight of field construction activities within a specified discipline associated with procurement, fabrication, installation, modification, and maintenance of systems and components.
- Coordinates with Design agencies to ensure timely issuance of a new design or design changes.
- Walk down and review designs for constructability, resolve design problems encountered in the field during construction and meets with and discuss solutions with Design Engineers. Inspects/verifies materials, equipment, and construction workmanship and assures compliance with drawings, specifications, and code requirements.
- Coordinates with Quality Control to ensure the installation meets the requirements.
- Participates in turnover activities. Supports / participates in start-up and functional check out of equipment and systems.
CONSTRUCTION DISCIPLINE ENGINEER WELDING
This position requires the following specific requirements:
- Capable of interpreting code requirements
- Qualified to perform/interpret PT’s
- Certified Pipe Weld Examiner or capable of obtaining certification
- Experienced in performance of bubble leak tests and vacuum box testing
- Experienced in training welders and operation of a weld test facility
- Capable of climbing/spending extended periods of time in the field.
- Capable of obtaining the qualification to work in radiation/contamination areas
Construction Discipline Engineer (Field Engineer - Welding) - Construction (CO102) Candidates shall work to support requirements for RFQ189243R Staff Aug Construction Discipline Engineer - Welding Field Engineer (Construction Services).
KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support/lead team hazard analysis review meetings

Work Execution Field Coverage & Support
- Lead pre-job briefings with craft workers
- Perform task ready walk down with craft supervision
- Verify quantities of installed commodities
- Coordinate daily field support
- Expedite / order material as required
- Coordinate material testing
- Coordinate and status shop fabrication in support of field execution
- Perform field inspections
- Identify and coordinate resolution of field installation issues
Work Execution Plan Closure
- Generate design completion notices
- Ensure accuracy of work execution plan status
- Close all required permits
- Close work execution plan documentation
