JOB OVERVIEW
GENERAL PROGRAM SUPPORT BY THE SCHEDULER
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Reviewing project plans and specifications to determine the timeline and milestones of the project.
- Developing project schedules and timelines using scheduling software.
- Identifying critical paths and potential schedule conflicts, and proposing solutions to prevent delays.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that project schedules are realistic and achievable.
- Communicating project schedules to team members and stakeholders, and providing regular updates on progress.
- Tracking project milestones and deadlines, and adjusting schedules as necessary to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Monitoring and analyzing project performance metrics, such as cost, quality, and productivity, to identify areas for improvement.
- Participating in project planning and risk management activities to identify potential scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Continuously improving scheduling processes and methodologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, construction management, or a related field. Some employers may accept an associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years experience in project management, scheduling, or a related field, with a strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, and control.
- Must have strong technical skills, including proficiency in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar tools.
- Must have a high level of attention to detail, including the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies in project plans and schedules.
- Must have strong communication skills to effectively communicate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients, and to present project schedules in a clear and concise manner.
- Must have strong analytical skills to analyze data, identify potential scheduling risks, and make informed decisions.
- Must be able to manage their time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must also be committed to continuous improvement and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest scheduling methodologies and tools.
