JOB OVERVIEW

Provide Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) support and research for The Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Site

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

SCOPE OF WORK

• Provides detailed research evaluations to ensure that credible engineering input based upon sound scientific principles can be utilized by the WTP in support of its mission.
• Provides technical oversight of manuscripts prepared by Enhanced Waste Glass program performers for submission to high impact professional journals.
• Contributes to operational risk reduction.
• Participates in the specification of a methodology for evaluating new glass forming chemical sources and evaluation of the needed sources.
• Evaluates and contributes to matrixes of glass productions.
• Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The Senior Research Engineer shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner. The Senior Research Engineer employee shall submit a weekly report to the technical monitor addressing work accomplished, and deliverable progress.
