1. Analysis and Teamwork
Under the supervision of the Senior Analyst and the guidance of the Head of the Renewable Energy Division, contribute to the production of the âRenewable Energy Market Reportâ series including special reports and thematical focuses and to other work streams on renewable policies, markets and technologies covering the electricity, transport and heat sectors.
The analytical work will cover market, cost and policy analysis related to renewables. It will involve the management of large energy statistics datasets and the development of forecasting models based on these.
Working as part of a team, the Analyst will be responsible for:
- Analysing market and policy developments in the renewable energy sectors and modelling the medium-term market forecast for specific regions and countries.
- Monitoring renewable energy technology developments, including the evolution of investment costs, technology applications and performance data.
- Developing, guiding and leading analytical and forecasting methodology, and messaging for various renewable energy technologies and thematical areas.
- Analysing the deployment and cost implications of different renewable energy policies and developing relevant key messages of the analysis.
- Contributing to the production process, strategic communications and marketing activities of the IEAâs âRenewable Energy Market Reportâ, as well as other publications as needed.
- Contributing to the Divisionâs work on policy advice in emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs)
- Supporting the broader activities of the Division and the Agency through analytical, written and verbal contributions, development of web content and briefs on all aspects of renewable energy markets and policy.
2. Liaison and Outreach
The Analyst will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with other divisions in the Agency, providing analysis on renewable energy and its role in energy markets and systems.
- Developing and maintaining contacts with governments, other international organisations, industry and other stakeholders.
- Participating in preparations for meetings of the standing committees, working parties and other events, including the development of reports, analysis and information items.
- Promoting the work of the Agency externally to a wide range of audiences through participation in workshops, making presentations and holding bilateral meetings.
- Collaborating with the scientific and expert community of IEAâs Energy Technology Network; deriving knowledge from IEA Technology Collaboration Programmes to relevant IEA analysis and publications.
- Supporting the work of the IEA Renewable Energy Working Party (REWP) as appropriate.
