Summary
Sets up and operates manual machines to perform machining operations such as turning, boring, facing, and threading parts such as castings and bar stock. Proactively promotes The McWane Way Principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Proactively promotes The McWane Way principles.
- Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Wears appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
- Uses proper lifting and ergo techniques.
- Follows detailed job specific instructions to make sure castings are produced in the most efficient manner and to meet customer specifications.
- Reads blueprints to ensure parts are produced according to required tolerances and specifications.
- Reads process sheets, blueprints, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machine.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining, and adjusts machine as required.
- Operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings.
- Disposes of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
- Maintains equipment to production standards to include routine inspections, basic housekeeping, cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance as instructed.
