The Opportunity:
The Prototyping Workshop supports the various Mattel Building Set departments in product development, as well as in the creation of mock-ups used to promote different toy lines.
What Your Impact Will Be:
Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Model Maker is responsible for creating, reproducing, or modifying physical models based on validation models, preliminary plans, or sketches provided by the Design Department. These mock-ups must accurately represent the dimensions, colors, and final appearance of the products to be manufactured, providing a tangible representation of toys in development.
Prototypes are created using a variety of materials, such as production blocks, 3D-printed parts, foam, styrene, resin, and others. The Model Maker must be proficient in a wide range of techniques, including spray and hand painting, construction (blocks), finishing and sanding, sculpting, thermoforming, molding, and more. The role also involves working with various types of machinery.
