LinkedIn is looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) to work within LinkedIn鈥檚 Physical Infrastructure Program Management team. The right candidate will have demonstrated solid leadership and technical acumen in leading teams and programs to deliver successful outcomes. You will be involved in strategy, inception, and execution of our infrastructure projects, as well as initiating, planning, and executing intermediate-to-large scale cross-functional programs. The ideal candidate has an excellent balance of people, organizational, and technical skills, and can execute successfully in situations where authority is not a given. Interaction and leadership across functional lines is essential.
What You鈥檒l Own
Executive Partnership & Governance
- Partner with VP-level and C-suite leadership on program execution and strategic planning
- Establish governance frameworks that drive decision-making and mitigate cross-organizational dependencies
- Present to senior executives on infrastructure strategies, managing sensitive situations and securing stakeholder commitments
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute multi-year strategy for data center infrastructure programs, including capacity expansion and forecasting, network modernization,DC build and decommissioning.
- Shape infrastructure investment strategies aligned with LinkedIn鈥檚 5+ year growth trajectory.
- Pioneer next-generation data center technologies that establish competitive advantages.
Program Execution
- Lead concurrent projects across multiple regions, including major data center buildouts, brownfield retrofits, AI/ML infrastructure (GPU clusters), capacity forecasting and expansion, and supply chain operations.
- Manage end-to-end data center lifecycle from site selection through operations optimization to decommissioning.
- Ensure predictability across teams by maintaining momentum, removing organizational roadblocks, and shipping solutions on schedule.
Technical Expertise
- Drive cutting-edge infrastructure improvements including AI acceleration, high-density power/cooling systems, and hyperscale network design
- Serve as subject matter expert in physical infrastructure, staying current on emerging data center technologies
- Develop and evangelize best practices, contributing to industry leadership
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Influence teams of 100+ stakeholders across engineering, construction, procurement, operations, legal, and finance without direct authority
- Build consensus and navigate complex multi-party conflicts
- Act as liaison between Engineering, Infrastructure, and Architecture teams to align strategy and execution
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Partner with data and infrastructure teams to inform capacity planning
- Understand and drive sophisticated financial models including TCO analysis, ROI projections, and business cases for capital expenditures
- Understand and drive metrics aligned with organizational goals, ensuring continuous improvement
Process Excellence
- Design and improve processes at group level to optimize cross-team workflows
- Implement advanced change management practices including scope baselining and impact evaluation
- Identify and solve systemic problems that increase program velocity across multiple teams
- Maintain project dashboards and status reporting across concurrent workstreams, ensuring stakeholders visibility.
- Facilitate recurring cross-team syncs spanning time zones. Including preparing agendas, documenting decisions, tracking action items, and following up when commitments slip.
- Build and maintain program documentation including SOPs, runbooks, post-mortems, and architectural decisions that require continuous updates.
- Navigate internal approval processes for change requests and resource allocations, often requiring multiple stakeholder meetings and documentation revisions.
- Produce executive-ready materials that synthesize technical complexity, iterating through feedback cycles and incorporating last-minute data changes.
