The Vice President (VP) of Science and Technology plays a pivotal role in driving the organization's technological vision and ensuring that it remains competitive in an ever-evolving innovation landscape This position involves a blend of strategic planning, leadership, and hands-on management to ensure that the business unit remains at the forefront of innovation and technological advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies for technological and scientific growth, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
- Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of scientists and technologists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Technology Management: Oversee the acquisition, implementation, and management of technology infrastructure in support of the business unit鈥檚 5-year growth strategy.
- Research and Development: Drive the research and development efforts, ensuring that the organization stays ahead of technological trends and advancements. Work closely with Product Management team in developing 5-year NPD and technology funnel.
- Collaboration: Represents the company across LGC sites and businesses and externally at scientific meetings. Serve as a thought leader and representative of the company in external scientific, technology, and industry forums.
- Custom Co-Creation Execution: Work closely with customers, commercial, operations and product management teams in identifying custom co-creation projects and execute them to the customer specifications.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure that all technological initiatives comply with relevant regulations and standards, and that data security and privacy are maintained. Work with patent council, responsible for all IP from filing invention disclosures to patent prosecution for the business unit
- Budget Management: Manage the budget for the science and technology department, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
