The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the delivery of clinical programs within Health and Medical Services. The position provides leadership to health professionals in the delivery of high-level professional services. The position is responsive to government initiatives, research, bodies of knowledge and health information, and provides expert advice at both strategic and operational levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and management to health professionals within Health and Medical Services.
- Manage the provision of efficient and effective clinical and nursing services, across all practice locations, which underpin the delivery of high-quality healthcare to clients.
- Ensure that all activities are compliant with the RACGP accreditation standards for General Practice, University and other relevant regulatory requirements, as well as those of relevant external health service providers.
- Under the direction of the Senior Clinical Nurse provide health assessment and treatment of illness and injury incurred by students, staff and visitors.
- Assist visiting doctors and other health professionals with relevant client care and ongoing treatment.
- Maintain appropriate and accurate electronic attendance records, confidential reports and health and medical services statistics using medical software supplied.
- Provide general support to staff in Student Life in dealing with clients with all health-related issues.
- Develop and enhance appropriate health referral networks on and off campus.
- Provide primary health care, including information on health issues pertinent to the client population and University community generally. Including displays, handouts, seminars, workshops and other activities.
About you
- Registration as a General Nurse with AHPRA.
- The occupant of this position to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B.

This is a casual opportunity primarily based at the Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
The casual hourly rate is $66.79 per hour (HEW level 7 Step 1), plus 17% superannuation.
