As a Workplace Relations Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting fair, consistent and legally sound employment practices across the University. Working within the Office of General Counsel, you will partner with Human Resources, senior leaders and other stakeholders to provide expert workplace and industrial relations advice and help resolve complex employment matters.
Here’s how you’ll make it matter:
Provide expert advice to HR Business Partners and leaders on industrial instruments, employment legislation and workplace relations matters.
Manage complex employment relations cases including performance management, misconduct, grievances and disputes, supporting fair and timely outcomes.
Conduct workplace investigations into allegations of misconduct and policy breaches, ensuring procedural fairness and sound decision making.
Contribute to enterprise agreement negotiations, implementation activities and ongoing industrial compliance across the University.
Strengthen organisational capability by coaching and guiding leaders on workplace relations practices, policies and legislative obligations.

You will also have:
Relevant qualifications in employment relations, employment law, human resource management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of Australian workplace relations legislation including the Fair Work Act, modern awards and enterprise agreements.
Demonstrated experience managing complex employment relations matters within a large or complex organisation.
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence, advise and build trust with senior leaders.
Strong judgement, integrity and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.

This is a fixed-term (12-month), full-time position primarily based at the Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 8 range $113,226 - $134,373 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $132,474 - $157,216 per annum.
