The Network & Security Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting the organization鈥檚 network, wireless, telephony, and security infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of IT services. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving incidents, performing routine maintenance, and implementing configurations in line with organizational standards and SLAs. The specialist works closely with internal IT teams and vendors, participates in change management, disaster recovery, and continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements. By maintaining and optimizing network, telephony, and security systems, the role ensures seamless and secure operations that support business objectives.
Network Infrastructure Management
- Maintain, monitor, and optimize network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN) to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network, wireless, and security systems, including routers (Cisco, D-Link, Netgear), switches (Cisco, HP), wireless controllers and access points (Cisco EWS, Meraki, Ruijie), and firewalls (SonicWall, FortiGate).
- Configure and maintain firewall rules, VPNs, VLANs, ACLs, and access control policies to enforce network security.
- Support IP telephony systems, including Cisco CME, CUCM, and Yealink phones, covering extensions, call routing, voice quality monitoring, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.
- Assist end-users with network, wireless, telephony, and security issues, providing troubleshooting assistance and escalating complex problems as needed.
- Perform routine network, wireless, telephony, and security maintenance, including firmware updates, patching, configuration backups, and enforcing compliance standards.
- Participate in network, wireless, telephony, and network security projects, capacity planning, site surveys, disaster recovery testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Back-up and Disaster Recovery
- Develop and maintain network backup and recovery plans for critical network, wireless, and telephony configurations.
- Test disaster recovery procedures regularly.
- Monitor network, wireless, telephony, and security performance metrics using monitoring platforms; analyze trends and recommend improvements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Document network, wireless, telephony, and security configurations, diagrams, SOPs, and incident resolutions; provide periodic reports for audits and management review.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance and internal audit requirements related to networking, wireless and security.
- Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to ensure integration, compatibility, and successful deployment of network, telephony, and security solutions.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on the latest networking, wireless, telephony, and security technologies and provide recommendations for enhancements.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the organization鈥檚 security posture.
