Roles & Responsibilities
As a Senior SDET at Finmo, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, scaling, and leading test
automation initiatives to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our web and API-driven
fintech products. In addition to being hands-on with automation frameworks, you will mentor junior
QAs and SDETs and lead a small team to drive best practices across quality engineering.
- Provide technical aspects in test automation strategy, framework design, and tool selection.
- Own the quality and reliability of high-impact fintech features across web and API platforms.
- Design, develop, and scale robust automation frameworks for Web and API testing.
- Build internal QA tools and accelerators to improve testing speed, coverage, and efficiency.
- Create, maintain, and execute automated test suites for functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams within Agile sprints to identify risks early and prevent defects.
- Leverage AI tools and techniques to simulate real-world scenarios, improve test coverage, and proactively detect issues.
- Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts to ensure clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Work with Playwright, Selenium, RestAssured, Appium using Java, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and enforce test quality gates.
- Perform API automation, database validations (SQL), and exploratory testing as needed.
- Champion shift-left and automation-first approaches to maximize efficiency and reduce defects.
- Explore and contribute to performance testing using tools like JMeter or k6.
- Advocate for quality across the organization, influencing development processes, coding practices, and release readiness.
- Lead and mentor a small team of QAs and SDETs, guiding them on automation design, code quality, and best practices.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or k6.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) or microservices infrastructure.
- Hands-on knowledge of version control tools like Git and test tools like JIRA.
- Understanding of non-functional testing metrics, including performance, scalability, and high availability.
- Certifications like ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent (optional but advantageous).
