The Biomanufacturing Lab Technician will support R&D and pilotâscale bioprocess operations by preparing buffers and media, executing nonâGMP unit operations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, solution preparation experience, and familiarity with bioprocess workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Buffer & Media Preparation
- Prepare small (<200 L) and large (200â500 L) batches of buffers and tissue culture media according to established SOPs.
- Perform solution calculations (molarity, molality, percentages) and determine component volumes based on algebraic equations.
Bioprocess Unit Operations
- Set up, operate, and evaluate nonâGMP processes including:
- Bioreactors
- Centrifugation
- Filtration
- Chromatography
- Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration (UF/DF)
- Final fill operations
Equipment & Facility Support
- Execute CIP (CleanâinâPlace) and SIP (SterilizeâinâPlace) procedures.
- Perform aseptic sampling, parts washing, inventory management, and accurate recordkeeping.
- Generate work orders and enter/evaluate data in electronic systems.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
