The BIM Modeler for Roads and Surfaces will be responsible for developing and managing accurate 3D civil models, focusing on road geometry, surfaces, and corridor modeling using Civil 3D. This role supports the delivery of landside infrastructure upgrades by producing design-grade models for alignments, profiles, assemblies, corridors, and surfaces. The role also involves setting up data shortcuts, working with Autodesk Construction Cloud workflows, and coordinating with multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D models for roads, grading, surface drainage, and pavements using Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Create and manage alignments, profiles, assemblies, corridors, and surface models to support phasing and construction sequencing.
- Maintain and manage data shortcuts and drawing references across multi-user environments using Autodesk Construction Cloud and Autodesk Desktop Connector.
- Coordinate with engineers and designers to model existing, stage phasing and proposed conditions for roadways, taxiways, and aprons, ensuring accurate grading and surface definitions.
- Generate detailed plan, profile, and cross-section sheets for construction and regulatory submissions.
- Implement civil BIM workflows that align with Transportation Canada, Ontario Provincial Standards (OPSD), ICAO Annex 14, and Toronto-area municipal design standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary coordination reviews and clash detection for grading interfaces, pavement structures, and subgrade conditions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date models reflecting design changes, construction phasing, and turnover stages.
