About The Role
Egis Canada is providing technical support to a client working on a Canadian SMR in Ontario, Canada. The client is leading a partnership for the construction phase of the SMR project. The first construction works commenced in early 2025.
As a Site Methods Engineer - Steel Structures, you will provide our client with support on the Nuclear Island and specifically related to the modular steel concrete reactor building civil structures scope of work, supporting the clients Technical Manager with regards to erection sequencing and resolution of site problems.
Key Responsibilities:

- Planning execution sequence of steel-concrete modules, step by step and consistently maintained/updated, and regularly reviewed for accuracy from design release package to construction.
- Review of potential changes to check for impacts on execution sequence and input into impact assessment reports as needed.
- Production of detailed method statement for erection of steel-concrete modules including any temporary works needed
- Providing input into calculation notes performed by design engineers
- Assisting with resolution of fabrication NCRs
- Assisting with resolution of construction works NCRs
- Participation into design and constructability reviews
- Participation into Action/Recovery Plans to address any schedule performance issues.
- Identification of risks across the above scope
- Input into lessons learned across the above scope
- Attend meetings to support client (as requested by Client)
- Responsible for coordination of prerequisite and execution task readiness โ includes schedule and risk review meetings with construction management, supervision, engineering, quality, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure logistics, execution strategy and schedule compliance are understood and achievable.
