Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team responsible for the delivery of bridge and transportation structural design projects across a range of infrastructure schemes, ensuring high technical standards and consistent quality of outputs.
Take overall responsibility for project management activities, including scope definition, programme planning, resource allocation, budget control, and risk management, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and key internal and external stakeholders, building strong working relationships, managing expectations and ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide technical leadership and oversight to the design team, ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, and that appropriate design assurance and review processes are followed.
Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including highways, geotechnical, environmental, and construction colleagues, to ensure integrated and practical design solutions.
Support business development activities by contributing to bids, proposals, and tender submissions, including defining scope, resourcing, programme, and fee estimates.
Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation measures to maintain programme and quality of delivery.
Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance, feedback and performance management to support capability building and succession planning within the team.
Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the team and across project delivery.
