The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.
The Division of Policy, Planning and Measurement (PPM) collaborates with every ACS division to guide systems analysis and strategic systems improvement; assure quality of practice at ACS and its provider agencies; professionalize the frontline workforce; bring knowledge into practice; provide research and analytic support; and plan and develop new programs and policies.
The Office of Training and Workforce Development with the Division of Policy, Planning, and Measurement at ACS provides foundational and continuous learning opportunities for child welfare and juvenile justice direct service staff and supervisors.
Reporting to the Executive Director of the ACS Workforce Institute, the Coordinator of the ACS Workforce Institute will be devoted primarily to supporting the Executive Director on projects involving the ACS Workforce Institute, which includes the implementation of a variety of adult learning opportunities, setting/maintaining core competencies and standards for direct service staff.
The Coordinator will also provide support to the broad ACS Workforce Institute team. This position will interface with OTWD and ACS leadership, Workforce Institute Teams, and CUNY partners and consultants, among others, to assure good communication and the timeliness of deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Support the visioning, planning, feedback and activities of the ACS Workforce Institute from work plan development through complete implementation of deliverables.
- Provide day to day support to the Executive Director of the ACS Workforce Institute, as well as provide community coordination support to the entire ACS Workforce Institute team.
- Manage the schedule of the Executive Director to ensure that all appointments are coordinated and maintained in a timely manner.
- Provide administrative support to the broad ACS Workforce Institute team, including items related to Personnel, Facilities, OIT, Telecom, and other divisions as they arise.
- Support onboarding needs for new staff and consultants.
- Coordinate and support the collaboration between the entities of the ACS Office of Training and Workforce Development (OTWD), and the new resources developed through the CUNY partnership.
- Coordinate ongoing consultant partnerships within the CUNY system as well as other partners in the community and within other ACS divisions.
- Coordinate research activities being done on behalf of strategic planning activities within the ACS Workforce Institute.
- Attend meetings with senior ACS leadership, as required and necessary to fulfill the needs of the department and to support the timely meeting of the deliverables.
- Attend trainings and meetings as indicated.

- May be tasked with additional responsibilities as the need arises.
