The Medical Division operates 24/7 with the primary responsibility of overseeing the health and well-being of all members of the service, including both physical and psychological. The main office is located at 59-17 Junction Blvd. Queens, however, NYPD also operates out of 4 satellite offices to monitor and evaluate uniformed members of service while sick or on restricted duty.
The Behavioral Care & Support Section conducts fitness for duty evaluations as well as ensures members of service are receiving the appropriate behavioral health services they require. The NYPD鈥檚 Behavior Care & Support Section is seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of Department Psychologist Level I.
Duties involve the following:
- Conducting fitness for duty evaluations of police personnel (uniformed and civilian), case management, trauma debriefings, military debriefings, crisis intervention, and screening for undercover assignments. (training and supervision provided)
- Providing supportive services and psychoeducation for individuals at designated NYPD precincts and specialty
units.
- Attending and participating in psychological and general staff conferences and training.
