CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a QA Engineering Manager to build and lead our QA Engineering function.
Your initial focus will be on supporting Witcher 4, where the need for automation frameworks and tools is currently the strongest. Over time, your work will also span other projects such as Cyberpunk 2 and Sirius, with the goal of creating shared QA Engineering services and technologies that benefit multiple teams across the studio.
Your mission is to shape how QA Engineering operates: owning frameworks, tools and pipelines that help QA and development teams ship stable, testable and performant builds. QA Engineering is part of the QA organization, but by design this role works very closely with Engineering and DevOps, with a lot of ongoing cooperation, alignment and feedback loops with technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead the QA Engineering team, with an initial focus on Witcher 4 and a long-term goal of providing reusable solutions for projects like CP2, Sirius and future titles.
- Execute and evolve the QA Engineering strategy, ensuring it supports current project needs while laying foundations for cross-project, studio-wide QA Engineering capabilities.
- Oversee the design, development and maintenance of automation frameworks, tools, and diagnostics used by QA and development teams (e.g., automated functional tests, build validation, stability checks, performance checks).
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, DevOps and Production to ensure efficient integration and deployment of testing frameworks and tools into CI/CD pipelines.
- Establish and monitor metrics for QA Engineering (e.g., coverage, pipeline health, automation reliability, defect detection) and drive continuous improvement based on data.
- Identify and implement process and tooling improvements that enhance testability, observability and overall development efficiency, with an eye on reuse across projects.
- Manage risks and dependencies related to QA Engineering work, anticipating issues in automation, tooling or infrastructure and driving mitigation plans.
- Provide guidance, mentorship and career development for QA Engineers, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented, and technically strong team culture.
- Support planning and resource allocation for QA Engineering initiatives, balancing short-term project priorities with long-term technical investments.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders, regularly reporting the status, impact and roadmap of QA Engineering work across QA, Tech and Production.
