AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Resident Engineerfor a large roads project. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for the activities and efficiency of his staff for the satisfactory prosecution of the work under his supervision. He has the responsibility to build and maintain an organization that can effectively provide the necessary staking, testing and inspection to ensure the project is constructed according to the plans and specifications. He/she will familiarize rapidly with the plans, specifications and amendments to effectively administer the work.
• Lead the overall delivery of assigned infrastructure packages (roads, utilities, drainage, and associated works), ensuring project objectives related to time, cost, quality, safety, and RTA compliance are achieved.
• Supervise and manage contractors to ensure works are executed in full compliance with approved IFC drawings, project specifications, RTA standards, and milestone targets.
• Manage and direct the supervision team to undertake daily inspections in accordance with RTA inspection and hold-point requirements, ensuring quality and safety standards are consistently met.
• Maintain a high level of HSE awareness, ensuring contractor compliance with RTA, Dubai Municipality, and project-specific HSE requirements, including approved Traffic Management Plans (TMPs).
• Resolve technical, interface, and site-related issues promptly, including coordination with live traffic, utility diversions, and authority constraints, to avoid delays.
• Represent AECOM in RTA, Client, and authority coordination meetings, presenting progress reports, technical matters, and mitigation strategies.
• Review, assess, and provide recommendations on RTA-submitted construction programs, method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, and cost estimates.
• Manage and support scope changes, variations, and claims in coordination with the Client, RTA, and key stakeholders, ensuring contractual and technical compliance.
• Develop, review, and implement project management documentation including the Project Execution Plan (PEP), RTA-approved HSE Plan, Traffic Management Plan (TMP), and Quality Control Plan (QCP).
• Define and monitor program milestones and interface requirements for all infrastructure works, ensuring alignment with RTA approvals and authority NOCs.
• Assign responsibilities to key subordinates, conduct performance evaluations, and support their professional development in line with AECOM performance standards.
• Conduct internal weekly coordination meetings to review progress, RTA comments, risks, and corrective action plans.
• Ensure full compliance with RTA standards, manuals, permits, and NOCs, as well as requirements of DEWA, Etisalat, DU, Dubai Municipality, and other authorities.
• Review and verify technical deliverables and ensure timely closure of RTA comments, RFIs, NCRs, WIRs, and shop drawing approvals.
• Provide strong technical and managerial leadership for roadworks, pavements, utilities, drainage systems, structures, and interface works, including works under traffic and within existing infrastructure corridors.
