What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage AECOM’s building engineering operations in Boston, with an emphasis on team growth and performance.
- Oversee and grow the Mechanical (HVAC) department, including mentoring staff and managing project delivery.
- Develop and execute a strategy to add electrical and plumbing engineering staff to build a thriving local MEP team.
- Drive major project pursuits — both stand-alone MEP/FP work and as part of larger multi-discipline teams.
- Collaborate with other AECOM offices and business lines to optimize project staffing and delivery.
- Oversee HVAC design across a range of project sizes and complexities.
- Act as technical leader and quality reviewer, ensuring consistent, high-caliber output.
- Serve as design manager on complex projects with significant engineering scope working closely with project managers to deliver high quality documents.
- Lead interdisciplinary coordination/quality reviews and ensure engineering standards are met.
- Guide team members in their work, assigning tasks and supporting their professional development.
- Manage forecasting, resource planning, and staff performance, including goal-setting and annual reviews for mechanical department. Assist the electrical department manager to do the same.
- Represent AECOM to clients, participate in interviews, and help craft winning proposals.
- Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in high-performance mechanical design.
