Role Description: Intermediate Project Manager
Responsible for managing a project to achieve specified objectives. Involves the overall planning, coordination and control of a project from inception to completion to produce a functionally and financially viable project that will be completed on time within authorized cost and to the required quality.
This Project delivery manager will manage the delivery of a project from EC, working with senior stakeholders and operationally managing a project team. The person will assist in the development of the project delivery strategy and set-up required multi-disciplinary EC team. The candidate will bring commercial acumen to the project’s delivery, ensuring all work and outputs are executed to meet project needs and objectives.
Role Accountabilities:
Lead the implementation of projects for meeting client expectations.
1. Project & Design Leadership
- Develop project strategies and plans that align with project objectives and client needs.
- Assure compliance with contracts in terms of project delivery parameters and scope of service.
- Use own knowledge and experience of industry best practice to develop processes and review policies for own project, ensuring changes are in line with strategic business objectives.
- Good understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance issues to ensure that information is managed in a responsible and secure manner.
- Analytical skills to make sense of complex data and information, as well as Problem-solving skills to address challenges and find solutions
2. Multidisciplinary Team Coordination:
- Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and collaboration across projects.
- Responsible for performance management of multiple projects and project teams / resource, engaging with senior leadership team.
- Lead a diverse project team of engineers, setting objectives, reviewing performance to ensure staff are driven and have the necessary skills to deliver the project objectives.
- Coordinate with various EC offices for Multidisciplinary and/or Multilocations projects
3. Design Process Management
- Analyze and compile a range of data, schedules, documents and provide advice to contribute to project decision-making.
- Responsible for setting project delivery approach and plan in consultation with key stakeholders
- Actively participate to standardization and automation of processes for continuous improvement in Information Management practices.
- Implement and maintain high standards of design quality, ensuring compliance with AECOM’s quality principles, industry regulations and client specifications.
- Oversee the design stages from concept to final delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications. Monitor the progress of design work, conduct regular review meetings to assess design progress and make necessary adjustments. Identify potential risks in the design phase and develop effective mitigation strategies
4. Budget and Resource Optimization:
- Translate project objectives into plans, estimates and schedules, manage budgets across the project life cycle.
- Build up and manage design budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and identifying opportunities for savings. Optimize the allocation of design resources to maximize efficiency and project success.
- Change management – Proactive in initiating, recording, assessing in terms of design impact/ budget/schedule.
- Analyze and compile a range of data, schedules, documents and provide advice to contribute to project decision-making.
5. Project Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle, from the project planning to project closure stages.
- Prepare and present regular project reports to internal teams and stakeholders for informed decision-making.
- Adapt to the AECOM Project Delivery Procedures and standards.
