Senior Landscape Architect – Markham/Kitchener (Hybrid)
Shape Cities. Shape Communities. Shape the Future.
At AECOM Buildings + Places, we design spaces that bring people together and improve everyday life. From civic squares and waterfronts to transit corridors, campuses, parks, and conservation areas—our work transforms the public realm across Canada.
We’re seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join our growing team in Markham/Kitchener with flexible hybrid options. This is a chance to take on career-defining projects, lead multidisciplinary teams, and make a tangible impact on how communities live, move, and thrive. This is a new role within the team.
Why You’ll Thrive Here
Career without limits – As part of a global, multidisciplinary company, you’ll have opportunities to shape your career in ways only AECOM can offer.
Design at every scale – Contribute to complex, high-profile projects that blend landscape architecture, urban design, transit, water, and infrastructure.
Work nationally – Our practice connects talent across Canada; we build teams around the best people, not just the nearest office.
Lead & mentor – Guide junior staff, share your expertise, and foster a collaborative studio culture.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Landscape Architect, you will:
o Lead projects from concept through completion – site analysis, concept/schematic design, detailed design, construction documentation, and contract administration.
o Manage scope, budgets, schedules, and client expectations on civic buildings, institutional sites, plazas, streetscapes, trails, parks, and open spaces.
o Collaborate across disciplines (landscape, urban design, architecture, planning, transportation, ecology, engineering) to deliver coordinated, high-impact outcomes.
o Champion sustainable and resilient design, with a focus on ecological restoration, climate adaptation, and innovation in public realm projects.
o Develop innovative solutions and details for complex multi-disciplinary contexts, often in collaboration with other architectural, engineering and environmental disciplines.
o Engage clients and stakeholders, lead presentations and workshops, and develop strong long-term relationships.
o Contribute to practice growth, including proposals, business development, and marketing initiatives.
