For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States. The successful candidate will have a high level of understanding and experience in structural engineering design and technology principles for heavy industrial and power generation projects. The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Serve as lead engineer on all size projects maintaining responsibility for deliverable development (Engineering of Record).
- Responsible for managing, monitoring and tracking discipline team progress against project budget and schedule.
- Coordination with the structural CAD design team to direct completion of engineering drawings.
- Develop task and deliverable list with associated hours estimate and schedule to support business development activities.
- Supports multi-discipline collaboration on the development of shared reports, documents and drawings.
- Provides technical expertise for risk assessments, due diligence and other studies presenting complex technical solutions to clients.
- Perform engineering calculations and develop structural analysis models to support and direct construction deliverables (specifications, reports, drawings).
- Supporting projects through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase, preliminary and detailed design, issue-for-bid, construction, start-up, and commissioning.
- Provide quality control reviews of work developed by others.
- Provide mentorship to other engineers early in their career.
- Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies and contractors.
- Assist with internal and external presentations.
- Participating in and presenting at meetings including those requiring occasional travel.
- Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of the design work.
