Position Overview
An environmental engineer with 3-4 years of experience in Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, Phase II Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation Works
Preferred Requirements:
- Sampling: Collect soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapor samples using techniques like core sampling, monitoring wells, and vapor intrusion testing.
- Laboratory Analysis: Send samples to certified labs to test for contaminants such as VOCs, heavy metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, pesticides, and PFAS.
- Data Interpretation: Analyze results to quantify contamination levels and assess environmental and health risks .
- Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports outlining findings, contamination levels, and recommendations for remediation or further investigation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure assessments meet ASTM E1903 standards and local environmental regulations
- Records Review: Examine historical aerial photographs, fire insurance maps, building permits, environmental databases, and other documents to assess past land use
- Site Inspection: Conduct visual inspections of the property and adjacent areas to identify signs of contamination (e.g., stained soil, dead vegetation, underground storage tanks).
- Interviews: Speak with current and past property owners, tenants, and local officials to gather information about site history and potential environmental concerns.
- Report Preparation: Compile findings into a comprehensive report identifying Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) and recommending next steps
