Inspect all delivered materials such as jacking pipes (RCC / GRP / Steel), lubrication materials (bentonite), concrete, grout, thrust blocks, rails, cutters, and fittings for compliance with approved specifications and material submittals.
Verify manufacturer certificates, test reports, compliance certificates, and batch numbers before acceptance.
Ensure materials match approved shop drawings, method statements, and authority requirements (RTA, DM, DEWA if applicable).
Ensure proper storage, stacking, protection, and labeling of pipes, chemicals, and mechanical components to prevent damage or contamination.
Monitor handling and lifting practices to avoid cracking, deformation, or coating damage.
Verify materials used during pipe jacking, shaft construction, thrust wall installation, guide rails, lubrication injection, and grouting works are approved and compliant.
Confirm correct material usage during joint sealing, lubrication application, and backfilling.
Ensure no unapproved material is used on site.
Coordinate with QA/QC Engineers, Site Engineers, Storekeepers, and Contractors for material approvals and availability.
Support client and consultant inspections.
Ensure compliance with project quality plan, ITPs, safety requirements, and environmental regulations.
Monitor material shelf life and expiry dates (chemicals, grout additives).
Identify potential material-related risks affecting tunneling alignment, jacking force, durability, or settlement control.
Ensure materials meet durability and load requirements for underground utilities.
