AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Utility Coordinator to support transportation design-build projects throughout the Fort Myers, Florida area, ensuring effective coordination with project teams, contractors, and local agencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinating utility relocation activities with utility companies, contractors, and project teams to minimize conflicts and delays in construction schedules
- Reviewing and analyzing utility plans, specifications, and agreements to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulations
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor utility relocation progress and identify potential issues or conflicts
- Facilitating communication between utility companies, contractors, and project stakeholders to resolve conflicts and maintain project timelines
- Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation of utility coordination activities, including meeting minutes, correspondence, and progress reports
- Assisting in the development and implementation of utility relocation strategies to minimize project impacts and costs
- Participating in project meetings and providing updates on utility coordination activities to project management and stakeholders
- Under general supervision, performing routine duties related to utility coordination and relocation
- Displaying knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications
- Applying sound professional judgment on details of work and utility-related issues
- Independently performing walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design
- Conducting quantity surveys for tracking and reporting purposes
- Providing technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors as needed
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding utility relocations and right-of-way acquisitions
- Collaborating with design teams to incorporate utility considerations into project plans and specifications
