Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Manager to lead the technical delivery of hyperscale data center projects in Romania. This role focuses on overseeing the design process from master planning through detailed design and construction documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in architecture or engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary design teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Design Oversight: Manage the design of data center core and shell projects, including architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, and fire protection disciplines, ensuring adherence to quality standards and design requirements.
• Technical Excellence: Administer, oversee, and perform peer reviews and quality checks in line with AECOM standards to ensure the highest level of technical quality in all design outputs.
• Basis of Design: Oversee the development and maintenance of the project basis of design and localization processes, ensuring compliance with client specifications and local regulations.
• Scope Management: Establish and implement processes to detect, track, and resolve design scope changes, errors, or inconsistencies throughout the design lifecycle.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Host and attend meetings with clients and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment on design objectives.
• Problem Solving: Identify potential design challenges early in the process and develop innovative solutions to address them effectively.
• Contract Compliance: Ensure that all design work complies with contractual obligations and AECOM’s standards.
• Resource Coordination: Identify and coordinate design resources in collaboration with department leadership to support project execution.
• Proactive Communication: Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding design progress and address any outstanding issues.
