AECOM is actively seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager to support projects across Northern California. This role will lead the planning, design, and construction of upgrades and new infrastructure for water and wastewater treatment facilities throughout the region.
This position offers flexibility to be based anywhere in Northern California, with regular visits to client project sites.
This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise and project management leadership, with a deep understanding of California water regulations and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams through complex infrastructure programs. The selected candidate will play a key role in delivering sustainable, regulatory-compliant solutions while advancing innovative treatment technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Manager for water and wastewater treatment facility projects across California, leading efforts from planning and alternatives analysis through design, construction, and commissioning.
- Provide strong technical leadership in treatment processes, hydraulics, nutrient removal, biosolids management, advanced water purification (DPR/IPR/AWTP), and collection systems.
- Ensure compliance with current and emerging California water quality and environmental regulations.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams (process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, I&C) to deliver high-quality, coordinated design solutions.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and risk management strategies; monitor performance to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Lead client engagement, presentations, and stakeholder coordination, including regulatory agencies and public outreach efforts.
- Support business development activities including proposal preparation, interviews, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Regularly visit project sites across Northern California to oversee progress and maintain strong client relationships.
