AECOM UK is seeking a motivated EC&I Engineer to join our Warrington office. You will be responsible for the delivery of Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) design and engineering within the department. This includes the production of design documentation, design substantiation, and checking the work of other engineers and designers. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to technically challenging projects within a multi-disciplinary environment, with exposure to client-facing responsibilities.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Lead and deliver EC&I design and engineering within the department, ensuring high-quality outputs.
Produce Functional Design Specifications, Basis of Design, User Requirement Specifications, and associated design documentation.
Check and approve drawings and documents from other engineers and designers to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and process engineers to ensure integrated, multi-disciplinary project delivery.
Manage small teams and workload allocation to ensure timely delivery within budget and quality expectations.
Maintain a strong focus on Health and Safety in Design.
Interface directly with clients, demonstrating professional and technical competence.
Electrical Responsibilities
Low voltage electrical distribution design, lighting design, lightning protection, fire alarm systems, normal and emergency lighting.
Understanding of interlocking systems.
Working knowledge of BS7671 (Essential).
Control & Instrumentation Responsibilities
Control system design and instrumentation systems, including loop diagrams and instrument schedules.
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) hardware and software design.
I/O, alarm, and trip schedules.
Control panel design, including GA’s, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
