We are in search of a skilled and experienced Water Infrastructure PM/DM to lead our design team within a dynamic consultancy environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the design and management on complex infrastructure, ideally hydropower or pumped storage, dams, heavy civil, underground works or major conveyance systems.
This role demands a professional who is adept at overseeing complex design processes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality infrastructure solutions on major multi-disciplinary water infrastructure programmes in support of end clients and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Project & Design Leadership in Civil Infrastructure:
- Lead the design process for civil infrastructure projects, focusing on hydropower or pumped storage, dams, heavy civil, underground works or major conveyance systems, from project planning to execution and closure.
- Mobilise a multi-country delivery team across civil, structures, geotech, hydraulics/hydrology, tunnelling/underground plus digital/BIM. Confirm discipline leads, interface owners plus handoffs.
- Define scope plus control it. Convert programme needs into executable work packages with clear assumptions, exclusions plus deliverables. Manage change control.
- Develop project strategies and plans that align with project objectives and client needs.
- Build the delivery plan. Maintain staffing forecasts plus milestone tracking aligned to programme dates. Own action tracking plus weekly status reporting.
- Guide the project team through complex technical challenges, ensuring innovative and practical solutions.
- Multidisciplinary Team Coordination:
- Manage and inspire multidisciplinary design teams, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment across civil, structures, geotech, hydraulics/hydrology, tunnelling/underground plus digital/BIM.
- Ensure seamless integration of various engineering disciplines in the design process, coordinating across grading, drainage, structural systems plus seepage control. Coordinate underground geometry plus access constraints to reduce rework plus short-notice .turnarounds.
- Coordinate with other department heads to allocate resources effectively and meet project demands.
- Coordinate with various EC offices for Multidisciplinary and/or Multicentre projects .
- Confirm digital tools plus workflows, including CDE/ACC, model standards, drawing standards, file structures plus review cycles. Maintain predictable model production plus drawing production.
