The Dock Operator - Export is responsible for efficiently moving and replenishing materials within the warehouse using a walkie rider. The ideal candidate will possess strong forklift and material handling experience, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attendance & Reliability: Maintain consistent and punctual attendance, as this is critical to warehouse operations. Operators are expected to be reliable and ready to work each scheduled shift to ensure the timely flow of materials.
- Operate a walkie rider to transport materials to designated warehouse locations for replenishment and final put-away.
- Load and unload materials from incoming and outgoing docks, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
- Identify damages, report shortages/overages, and notify management of quality deficiencies.
- Utilize RF units and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to identify, track, and manage inventory accurately.
- Perform quality checks on materials and report any issues following company procedures.
- Inspect machinery daily and report any maintenance needs or malfunctions to supervisors.
- Produce and maintain accurate activity logs and records of all inventory transactions.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist in keeping the dock area and warehouse organized and free from hazards.
- Participate in warehouse housekeeping activities, including cleaning and organizing storage areas as needed.
- Cross-Functional Training: Engage in training for cross-functional tasks within the warehouse, enabling support in various departments as operational needs require. This may include tasks in receiving, shipping, and other areas to develop a broader understanding of warehouse operations.
- Assist in cycle counts, inventory management, and other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Communicates with supervisors, and team leaders to obtain the proper information and direction on material movement throughout the plant. May communicate and distribute specific information to managers, coworkers, and other associates concerning exceptions or quality issues.
