As part of our continued expansion in Europe, Wise is seeking a strategic, regulatory and operationally-focused leader. This role will be pivotal in securing relevant licenses, deepening our presence in the Netherlands, and leading the subsidiary鈥檚 long-term growth whilst maintaining a strong focus on compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Authorisation & Entity Setup
Licensing application: Drive and manage the end-to-end process for obtaining relevant regulatory authorisations in the Netherlands including writing the regulatory business plan and supporting the localisation of any applicable policies and procedures.
Strategic Architecture: Design and implement a scalable regulatory and operational framework across the subsidiary in accordance with local and European regulatory requirements.
Entity Establishment: Set up the local subsidiary, including the incorporation of robust local governance processes
Board Creation: Alongside global teams, lead the recruitment and creation of the local Management Board including helping to hire and build the team accordingly.
Regulatory Relations: Act as the primary 1st line of defence (1LOD) point of contact for local Dutch regulators, establishing a proactive, transparent, and collaborative relationship throughout the authorisation process.
Operationalisation & Subsidiary Leadership
Executive Oversight: Lead the authorised subsidiary from a governance perspective, cultivating strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and making key decisions for the entity
Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure all local policies and procedures comply with Dutch regulations. Work closely with Risk, Compliance, and Product teams to maintain a robust and compliant product environment.
Outsourcing & SLA Management: Define and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) across outsourced functions, ensuring full compliance with local regulatory requirements regarding outsourcing.
Operational Performance: Oversee service and operational standards, ensuring timely escalation of issues to the board and relevant global stakeholders.
Product Partnership: Partner with Global and Regional Product and Engineering teams to ensure efficient launch of new products and features to customers
