A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*
- Ensure that accounting procedures comply with local statutory requirements
- Perform month-end closing procedures
- Responsible for keeping the books correct and updated according to H&M Group rules and local regulations
- Intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Routines for fixed asset bookings and depreciation calculations
- Prepare statutory reporting and statistics
- Research and correct any out-of-balance situations between the GL and sub-ledger
- Analyze, amortize, and reconcile prepaid accounts
- Prepare assigned journal entries
- Prepare assigned general ledger reconciliations
- Review general ledger reconciliations prepared by others
- Prepare monthly commissions
- Support and assist audits (both internal and external)
- Maintain contact with other accounting departments in the HUB and Shared Service Center
- Manual payments and correct reconciliation in the Banks from Payroll and other areas.
- Check request administration
- Reconciliation of freight, transport, and customs/duties
